The North Central Texas Civil War Round Table (originally called The Central Texas Civil War Round Table) is a group of individuals brought together by a common interest in the history of the Civil War.
The group meets on the 2nd Monday of the month, September-May at the Spring Creek Barbeque, 317 E. Hwy 377, Granbury, Texas. We meet about 5:30 p.m. for a social hour and dinner followed by a program that starts at 6:30 p.m.
Programs are designed to cover an aspect of the Civil War such as a leader, battle, politician, general or some other topic. Programs last 45 minutes to an hour. Past speakers have included many of the top Civil War scholars such as Ed Bearss, John Lundberg, Joe Walker, Scott Bowen, Richard McCaslin, Don Barnhart, Fred Hazen, Stephen Maizlish, Jack Waugh, Michael Landis, Don Frazier, David Coffey, Jonathan Steplyk, Steven Woodworth, and many others. Once again we have been very fortunate to schedule an impressive group of Civil War experts to speak to us this season. Please see our Events page for details.
The CWRT of North Central Texas is composed of people of varying backgrounds who just have an interest in learning more about the pivotal event in American history. Membership is open to anyone interested in this subject. We believe in the concept that “there are no sides on a round table” and we do not espouse any particular viewpoint. Regular dues are $25 per year for individuals and $35 for families. For those who want to help with covering our expenses for out-of-town speakers we have a Speaker Sponsor level of $100. Speaker Sponsors are invited to attend a pre-meeting social hour with our speaker. Guests are encouraged to attend meetings and learn with our members.
Many thanks!
